Our Dark Forest Is Now Open To New Members

Studio Slowcore has opened the virtual doors of our Dark Forest to new space members today, so we're no longer invite-only.

All 11 early members who found their way here from Farcaster will be added to our hidden gift-circle chat channel today ("core group"). To keep the admin overhead manageable, it's limited to ~25 members, and includes only our contributors and trusted allies. Membership in the core group is by admin invite only.

The join mode for our overall space has just been changed to "by application only," with the following question required:

This question is mostly just a formality to screen out casual drive-bys, though we're certainly paying attention to how applicants answer it. (We already have our first applicant, who will be approved shortly!)

Feel free to invite people to apply. The updated version of our FAQ is almost ready, and with luck it'll be posted later this week. We plan to set it up as a public "readme" file on our space's desktop when that becomes possible, so prospective members can get a better sense of what we do here before applying to join.

In the meantime, we'll point new members to our Substack and our early FAQ draft for the basics.
